GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST)
The Goods and Services Tax better known as the GST has been in force in Australia since July,
2000.
The most important factor affecting a majority of the populace has been GST Compliance.
We are all getting used to the habit of submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a
quarterly basis.
The new system is binding on clients to maintain books meticulously
so as to complete the BAS satisfactorily. The BAS itself can be quite a complex activity depending on the nature of the
business the taxpayer is involved in.
We have acclimatised very quickly to the challenges imposed by the new tax system as evinced by
our record of doing nearly 140 BAS on an average every
quarter since the inception of the new tax system.
